Rent an Opel Crosscamp - equipment and highlights
Article from Melanie
Being a newcomer is always difficult. Especially when the stage has been dominated by VW campers for decades. But the Opel Crosscamp Flex competes with the classic Bulli. Let us introduce it to you.
And because he still enjoys tendencies of underdog status as the newest member of our Off fleet, it's time to tell you more about it.
Opel Crosscamp Flex: Everything you need to know!
The Crosscamp is our all-rounder. It's ideally equipped for an unforgettable camping trip and you'll be prepared for all eventualities. It offers seating for 4 people and sleeping for 2-3. Compared to other campers of this type it's quite narrow, which has clear advantages in the categories of flexibility and maneuverability. For the sleeping area, however, this means slight losses. Both the lower, as well as the bed in the pop-up roof measure 200cmx 110cm. Quite cozy if 2 people each want to find space on it, but not impossible. Fresh and waste water tanks hold just under 10 litres each. The van comes fully equipped with a small kitchenette, awning and accessories such as camping table and lots of kitchen utensils. The only thing missing: You and your luggage!
Equipment Highlights: Our favourites
Some features of the Crosscamp Flex don't differ much from other compact campers like the VW models briefly mentioned in the previous paragraph. Nevertheless, the Crosscamp has some features that make it special - features that give your vacation that little bit of extra fun and extra comfort. Whether you want to get away from it all in the great outdoors, or feel like exploring a new city. The Crosscamp is a great choice. It feels intuitive and airy. Light and carefree like summer.
So let's go. Here we'll show you our 5 favourite features of the all-rounder in detail!
1. Stylish and safe with head-up display
Instead of the classic on-board computer, the camper uses a stylish head-up display to show speed, fuel consumption, etc. This feature is primarily for driving comfort and safety. By displaying important information directly in the driver's field of vision, there is no need to lower the driver's gaze while driving. Navigation and road works information are also displayed ´floating` in the windshield, allowing the driver to observe the road without micro-interruptions.
2. Total flexibility with two rotating front seats
Unlike many other camper models of its kind, the Opel Crosscamp Flex has two rotating front seats. Whereas a rotating passenger seat seems to have become the general standard for campers in recent years, the Crosscamp with rotating driver and passenger seat offers plenty of room. Four people can eat, chat or play games across from each other without any problems, if balmy summer evenings under the stars have to be moved inside the vehicle due to the weather.
3. Comfort Camping
Another favourite feature of the Crosscamp is the cold foam mattress. It's so comfortable, in fact, that customers regularly tell us about their sleeping comfort while camping. A vacation is not nice if you sleep badly. That's why it's clear that a good mattress in the camper is a real game changer.
4. Two doors for double draught
Now we come to a feature that most distinguishes the Opel Crosscamp from most other campers of this type. The campervan has sliding doors on both sides. Where many other vehicles do without this extra, the Crosscamp thus offers a portion of extra flexibility and practicality. Granted: The kitchen block, which is installed on the driver's side, prevents entry and exit from both sides, but two sliding doors, open up (in this case even literally) a lot of advantages. The pass-through option saves unnecessary walking, fresh and gray water can be changed without any fuss and ventilation is just amazing: Fresh air will find its way into your motorhome.
5. Pop-up roof with a view
And now for the highlight. The rooftop tent of the van. This not only offers space for one or two additional sleeping berths but also a unique view because the pop-up roof can be opened completely at the front and expands the campervan to a panoramic spot in rooftop style. The side walls can be opened a little as well to provide a full all-round view. Wake up with a view of the mountains or the sea and an incomparable feeling of freedom.
Technical details: What's the Opel Crosscamp able of doing?
