Hiking in the Mieminger mountains

The Mieminger Kette is a paradise for hiking, whatever the season. Compared to the Kitzbühel Alps, the region around Wildermieming in particular is still a real insider tip for active holidaymakers. Yet it is only a stone's throw away from Innsbruck and not only impresses with the breathtaking contrast of rugged rock faces and gentle meadows. On the sunny plateau, you get plenty of sunshine when hiking. What could be nicer than exploring nature on the mountain and getting your fill of vitamin D at the same time? From leisurely alpine hikes to panoramic mountain tours past forests and lakes, there is something for everyone here.
Our favourite tours for families, adventurers and nature lovers
Neue Alplhütte: You can reach the Alplhütte in just 1.5 hours via easy hiking trails.
Wankspitze: For this 5-hour tour, you should already have some alpine experience. You can ascend via the hiking trail, but there is also a great via ferrata.

Cycling in the mountains

On your bikes, get set, go. Get on the saddle and pedal off on a tour through the Mieminger mountains. Whether you cover many metres in altitude or kilometres on the flat makes no difference, because the view of the mountain landscape is fantastic from every angle. Experienced mountain bikers who are looking for an adrenaline rush can definitely enjoy themselves here, as can leisure cyclists.
No bike to hand? No problem, as campsites such as the Gerhardhof and other locations offer bikes for hire.

Adventures in the valley

If you have already explored the mountains enough and would now like to get to know another side of Tyrol, you can try your hand at rafting. An indescribable thrill awaits you as you float through the white water of the Ötztaler Ache or Imsterschlucht gorge. Of course, you can also take it easy with horse riding with mountain views or a day trip to Innsbruck.

Winter in Tyrol

If you prefer to spend the summer on the beach, you should savour the winter in Tyrol all the more. A magical winter wonderland with glistening snow and a wide range of activities await you in the mountains. At the top of the list of the best winter adventures is of course skiing and snowboarding, for which you will find plenty of opportunities in Axamer Lizum or one of the other numerous ski areas. If you're not in the mood for a cable car and lots of people on the slope, but rather want to enjoy some peace and quiet in nature, you can go ski touring or snowshoeing. Leutasch and Seefeld are also home to excellent cross-country ski trails and toboggan runs. Long story short: Winter sports enthusiasts will find heaven on earth right here in Tirol.
