Child-friendly campsite - insider tips

Campsites with great offers for children

To make the camping vacation a complete success for young and old, some campsites offer animation programs for children and teenagers or their own childcare. So you can lean back in your camping chair for a while and just relax while the kids have a great time with their peers.
The campsite Camping Südstrand in Schleswig Holstein has pretty much everything in store that you can imagine. The beautiful site on the Baltic Sea is located on the island of Fehmarn, directly by the sea, and offers a children's hour in the morning during the high season. In addition, games for the whole family are organized on the beach or on the meadow. And that's just the beginning: in the high ropes course, surfing and diving or on the spacious nature playground the whole family can really enjoy themselves, and in the evening the storyteller reads another story. Camping Südstrand has a lot of other programs in store. From live music to dance lessons to children's participatory concerts, there's something for everyone. A real highlight for families!
Particularly beautiful and family-friendly is the Grubhof in Austria. Here you can look forward to a children's playroom in the main house of the site and a youth room with table tennis and table football. You'll also find family showers and a baby changing room. Outdoor highlights include swimming in the river (at low water), a spacious meadow for playing and relaxing, a children's playground and a sports field. The farm can also help you organize family hikes and bike tours. In July and August you can also use the Salzburg Saalachtal Summer Card for free and use the Loferer Bergbahnen, the Steinbergbad in Lofer, the Saalachtaler Naturgewalten as well as the AlmErlebnisBus and public transport in the district for free. With the card you also get a discount at some other attractions. The nature-oriented children's program is also impressive: In summer, children can take part in guided hikes or go "whitewater sniffing", and twice a week they can take part in exciting excursions that include climbing or archery.

Farm vacations & camping very close to nature

Camping with children on a farm is a great thing for everyone who appreciates variety, closeness to nature, animals and adventure vacations. You can find all this at Rittergut Brokeloh in Lower Saxony, near the Steinhuder Meer nature reserve. Animal lovers will get their money's worth here: The camping area is located directly at the riding arena between the two horse meadows - an ideal location for horse-loving kids (and adults). In addition to horses, the farm is also home to cows, calves, sheep, chickens, cats and dogs. An additional bonus point that speaks for the beautiful manor in the countryside is that not only the sanitary facilities but also the communal kitchen in the associated hotel is at your disposal.
For many, the camping motto is: the closer to nature, the better. At the Natur Campingplatz Zwei Seen am Plauer See in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern you can set up camp either directly on the lakeshore, surrounded by forest or on a sunny meadow and explore Lake Plauer See by canoe, catamaran, SUP or pedal boat. Children are welcome on the site and can have fun on the large adventure playground, enjoy the long swimming beach or observe the animal inhabitants of the site in their natural setting

Camping for water enthusiasts

Splashing and frolicking in the water or simply relaxing on the beach is a great way to spend time on the grounds of the Vacation Park BreeBronne in the Netherlands. Whether on the site's own beach or in the subtropical indoor pool with paddling pool, family slide and shallow current channel, swimming and beach fans are at the right place. Children are welcome guests here, and can have a great time on various playgrounds, at the animation program or playing mini-golf. The water sports and bicycle rental and the varied gastronomic offers with beach bar ensure that no one gets bored here, whether child or adult.
Further in the south of Europe the Parco delle Piscine in Tuscany is awaiting you. The whole family can relax in the pools with thermal water from the source Santa Lucia. In addition to the pool - exclusively for camping guests - you can also enjoy a pool with a waterfall and a children's pool with slides. All pools are surrounded by sunbathing areas with umbrellas and deckchairs. Outside the water, there is a playground, a basketball court and a volleyball court. In July and August, the park offers an additional, changing animation program for all ages. The camp and entertainment areas are separated from each other, so despite the wide range of leisure activities on offer, it is also easy to relax and simply let your eyes wander over the beautiful landscape surrounding the campsite.

Off to the mountains

Mountain panorama, fresh air and green expanses as far as the eye can reach - there are many good reasons for a camping vacation in the mountains. If that's what you want to do the camping Grüntensee is a great destination - nothing stands in the way of the family vacation. Embedded in the Allgäu Alps, surrounded by forests and directly at the Grüntensee, which gives the campsite its name, the family campsite has a lot to offer. A children's and youth room, family showers and a baby changing area are at your disposal, and the site equipment is also ideal for children - a playground, a large lawn and the soccer and beach volleyball facilities provide fun and games. Of course, the location is also great for mountain tours, swimming and water sports in the lake, and if that's not enough, there are plenty of other options for sports activities in the surrounding area.
Get a breath of mountain air, visit the chickens and rabbits and let off steam at the playground: Children can do all this and much more at the Campsite Antholz in South Tyrol. With the mountains and Lake Antholz nearby, the whole family can spend wonderful vacations here and explore the beautiful area while hiking, picnicking or cycling. In winter, the site is also a great base for winter sports enthusiasts.

Our family-friendly camper models

It doesn't help much if the campsite is child-friendly, but you can't fit everyone into the camper you want to rent to get there. Therefore, before the family vacation can start, you need to find the right vehicle. At Off you'll find some models that are also suitable for larger groups.

Four berths and quite a lot of space

... offers our VW Grand California 600 (for smaller children) and our Mooveo motorhome. The VW California Beach and Ocean, the Opel Crosscamp and the Mercedes Benz Marco Polo can also sleep up to four people, but in these models you have a little less space.
